Chinaplas 2009 Grasps the Opportunities of Fast Growing Plastics Industry in Vietnam

Chinaplas 2009 (The 23rd International Exhibition on Plastics and Rubber Industries) takes aim at the fast growing plastics industry in Vietnam and will offer an one stop sourcing platform for plastics and rubber materials and their machines from May 18-21, 2009 at China Import and Export Fair Pazhou Complex, Guangzhou, PR China.

It was reported that Vietnam's plastics industry is expected to grow by up to 18% by 2010, with total production to hit 4.2 million tonnes, double the level in 2007. Total domestic demand for plastic products rose 13-fold between 1990 and 2000, and expanded an additional 2.5 fold between 2000 and 2007, to reach 2.13 million tonnes. Plastics consumption per capita dramatically increased from less than 1 kg in 1990 to around 25 kg last year.

In view of the fast development of plastics industry in Vietnam, Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd, Organizer of Chinaplas 2009, staged a press conference ON Nov 25 at HoChiMinh City, Vietnam, to introduce how Chinaplas 2009 will facilitate the development of plastics industry in Vietnam. Mr Stanley Chu, Chairman of Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd, said at the press conference, "Chinaplas is an annual event held in China and it has become Asia's No. 1 plastics and rubber trade fair. In the past years, we saw an increasing number of Vietnamese visitors. As the Vietnam's plastics industry has great demands for imported chemicals and raw materials, the exhibits of additives, thermoplastic elastomers and thermoplastics, etc. in Chinaplas 2009 can satisfy their sourcing needs. Furthermore, Mr Chu added, "In Vietnam, 80% of plastics corporations are SME, while our Chinese Export Machinery & Materials Hall, occupying around 18,000sqm exhibition area, can offer a wide selection of China-made machines and raw materials at competitive prices. As at October 2008, near 400 Chinese companies confirmed to display in this hall which will definitely facilitate buyers from Vietnam and other South East Asia countries to source the best solutions for their production processes."

In Vietnam, increasing production of high-tech content products for exports is one of the strategies of plastics industry, thus generating rising demand for plastics materials and technology for the production of high-tech content products, particularly in packaging, automobile and electronics fields. In Chinaplas 2009, key players of Akei, Hua Yan, and Tincoo, etc. will exhibit at the plastic packaging and blow molding machinery zone which can address the increasing demands from industries for higher molding speed and output rate, enhancement of automation and outlook. In automotive sector, over 340 exhibitors will display engineering plastics, rubber and its alloy materials, as well as related machines for producing automotive accessories, interior and functional parts in the coming edition. For electronics, Japanese and European exhibitors will display precision injection technology that facilitates the production of delicate plastic parts. Besides, Chinaplas 2009 will showcase over 1,800 sets of machines by prestigious suppliers including Avian, Chen Hsong, Engel, Krauss Maffei and Wutung.

Chinaplas 2009's Exhibition Area Upscales nearly 40%
Assembling 10 country / regional pavilions and 1,900 exhibitors, Chinaplas 2009 will occupy 18 exhibition halls and the total exhibition area will further expand to 140,000 sqm, enjoying a growth of 37% comparing with Chinaplas 2007 in Guangzhou, PR China.
