刊登日期:2009年5月13日
The 23rd International Exhibition on Plastics and Rubber Industries, CHINAPLAS 2009, will be held from May 18 to 21, 2009 at China Import & Export Fair Pazhou Complex, Guangzhou, PR China. Despite the financial turmoil, this world-class event captures global attention and will be well-attended by over 1,850 international exhibitors and 70,000 buyers.

Since its inception in 1983, CHINAPLAS has gone through 1998 Asian Financial crisis, 9-11 Terror Attacks in 2001, SARS in 2003 as well as 2008 global financial crisis. Despite of this, the show scale has managed to increase year by year and is recognized as Asia's No.1 and the world's No.3 plastics and rubber trade fair, providing a wide selection of chemicals and raw materials as well as the cutting-edge technologies to many local and overseas trade visitors in the plastics and rubber industries.

The total exhibition area of CHINAPLAS 2009 reaches 140,000sqm, which is 30% larger than the area of CHINAPLAS 2007 held at Guangzhou. The show will gather 11 country / region pavilions, and more than 1,850 renowned exhibitors from over 30 countries / regions. Over 200 suppliers will demonstrate their first time presence at the show. Their strong participation further manifests the leading position of CHINAPLAS 2009 in the plastics and rubber industries.

In CHINAPLAS 2009, a comprehensive range of raw materials and more than 1,800 sets of advanced machines will be on display, such as injection molding machines, extrusion machines, blow molding machines, die and mould, auxiliary and testing equipments, etc. which are widely applied to different sectors, including plastics and rubber products, electronics and electrical appliances, building and construction, automotives, packaging, information technology and telecommunication etc. Mr. Stanley Chu, Chairman of Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd, the organizer of CHINAPLAS said that, in order to cope with the global financial crisis and accelerate the transformation and upgrading of enterprises at Guangzhou, The Economic & Trade Commission of Guangzhou Municipal has attached great importance to the show by arranging Guangzhou News Center as the venue of CHINAPLAS press conference this afternoon. Mr Chu added that The Economic & Trade Commission of Guangdong Province had issued an invitation letter earlier to invite related associations, chambers of commerce of Guangdong Province as well as The Economic Trade Commissions of different regions to attend CHINAPLAS 2009. The Economic & Trade Commission of Guangzhou Municipal also forwarded this letter to their associations so as to help their enterprises to explore more business opportunities and strengthen their confidence in fighting against difficulties.

Mr. Fu An, President of Guangdong Plastics Industry Association pointed out that the plastics industry is undergoing a steady growth in China, and still maintains its high position in Guangdong Province. The timing of CHINAPLAS 2009 is the moment that we can see effective implementation of China's stimulus plan against the financial crisis, as well as the 4 trillion yuan infrastructure investment plan, which is implemented before 2010. All these positive measures are believed to stimulate the economic growth and improve the general living standard. Local governments have launched a series of policies in line with the central positive measure to boost domestic consumption. It ascertains the saying of "When there is crisis, there is opportunity".

The organizer revealed that, despite the impact of the financial crisis on the plastics and rubber industries, CHINAPLAS 2009 has still attracted numerous delegation groups from all around the world, including Brazil, Egypt, France, India, Indonesia, Iran, Jordan, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Turkey, Vietnam, etc. Local buyer groups from the sectors of automobiles, building and construction, electrical appliances, electronics, medical products, moulding, packaging, filming, etc. will also attend the show. Furthermore, prestigious enterprise groups, such as BYD, GREE, JianLiBao, Midea Group, NIKE, etc., also participate in the show to prepare for the coming of economic recovery.

Mr. Chu expressed, "As CHINAPLAS 2009 is held at Guangzhou, local enterprises can grasp a golden opportunity to view a wide range of raw materials and advanced equipments from all around the world, expand their business networks and update global technology and market trend, by spending a very short period of traveling time. Undoubtedly, the effectiveness of visiting CHINAPLAS is comparable to that of overseas international exhibition."

Being a world-class plastics and rubber trade fair, new elements have been created to enrich the show's content. This year, "Cross-Strait Plastics Industry Summit 2009" will be held on May 17, one day before the show is launched. Industry professionals and practitioners congregate for this prime occasion to share new concepts, new experiences and new opportunities.
