Created on July 12, 2005, Plastipolis accounts for one-third of business in France’s plastics industry and is its sole competitiveness cluster.
Centered in France’s Plastics Valley, it extends northwards into the Franche Comte region and southwards into the Rhone Alpes region.
The three pillars of Plastipolis are its: Businesses, R&D centers and training centers.
Gathering about 300 members, Plastipolis is dedicated to the industry, with more than 200 industrial members (within 90% of SMEs) but also works with research labs, universities and governmental entities. Set up to facilitate the availability of innovation to small and medium-sized businesses and to provide even more added value to plastics engineering, Plastipolis also wants to improve the sector’s image nationally and internationally. Today, the cluster wants to take its place on the European and global stage, in order to be visible and recognized.
