|How to penetrate the new model of circular economy in the plastic packaging industry chain?|
|Publish Date: 2020/11/25|
|In the current situation of plastic reduction, waste reduction and global circular economy, the demand that to get plastic recyclable has become urgent. According to report of the consulting and research company - FIORMARKETS, the market value of global recycled thermoplastics industry would reach to $104.76 billion by 2026. From 2019-2026, the annual growth rate will be about 9.98%. Some global major brands such as Nestle, Coco Cola, Pepsi, Unilever, Danone, Mars, etc. have launched the sustainable development commitment. The goal is to achieve 100% plastic packaging to be recyclable, degradable or reusable. While some chemical giants such as BASF, Covestro, Dow, Sabic, Exxon Mobil, Mitsubishi Chemical, Mitsui Chemicals, PolyOne, etc. have founded the “The Alliance to End Plastic Waste (AEPW)”, they will work together to create solutions to reduce and eliminate the impact of plastic waste on environment, especially the ocean. The alliance has committed to invest $1 billion (with a goal of $1.5 billion over next 5 years) to end the existing plastic waste.
How to penetrate the new model of circular economy in the plastic packaging industry chain? How to create the latest plastic recycling solutions? CHINAPLAS 2021 focuses on the industry direction, contribute to bring you latest sustainable development solution on recycled plastics, bioplastics and recycling technology, etc.
2nd Edition of CHINAPLAS x CPRJ Plastics Recycling & Circular Economy Conference and Showcase
CHINAPLAS and CPRJ will joint hand with CPTA and GRPG, collaborate with industry leaders such as BASF, Covestro, Borouge, Kingfa, Sabic, Erema, Sorema, etc. to share the global policies, laws and regulations of plastics recycling, and lead you one-stop explore the pioneering material technology for circular economy, cutting-edge recycling systems to close the loop, creative and sustainable plastic packaging on 12 April, 2021.
Three characteristic theme zones of CHINAPLAS 2021 provide comprehensive sustainable development solutions
Recycling Tech Zone of Hall 6 gathers over 60 leading domestic and overseas companies in recycling industry, showcasing a variety of cutting-edge technologies that cover the entire recycling process, from sorting, shredding and cleaning, to dewatering, drying and pelletizing, presenting to audience advanced plastics recycling solutions, and providing guidance to the industry partners. Exhibitors include Sesotec, Tomra, Boretech, Aceretech, Get Recycling, Avian, etc.
Recycled Plastics Zone of Hall 16 brings together various recycled plastics suppliers from several countries and regions such as China, Latvia, Mexico, Romania, United Arab Emirates, Thailand, United States, Turkey, and Taiwan, etc. to showcase high-quality recycled plastics and circular solutions. Exhibitors include DA FON, LUHAI, Chongqing Gengye, GEM, Guangxi Guolong, etc.
Bioplastics Zone of Hall 16 showcases the popular bioplastics and degradable plastics such as PBAT, PLA, etc., which are the best substitute for non-degradable plastics. Exhibitors include Jinhui Zhaolong, Stora, Enso, Esun, Cofco, Guzhiyuan, etc.
Plastic recycling industry chain closed-loop, food-grade packaging recycling
In the industry of PET packaging and PET containers, Guangxi Guolong is the first Chinese recycled plastics enterprise that achieved a closed-loop model of recycling, washing, shredding, pelletizing, extrusion sheet and thermoforming to finished products. The whole production line is equipped with European machines such as the SOREMA, EREMA, SML, KIEFEL, etc. The company’s production line has the largest capacity of recycled plastics in Asia. The products have passed the food safety certification of EU EFSA and US FDA. After gone through the recycling line, the packaging and containers made by plastic waste can reach to food grade.
Degradable film production machine to effectively solve the packaging waste
Simcheng will showcase the PVA film production machine on CHINAPLAS 2021. The PVA film is water-soluble and bio-degradable, can be degraded to carbon dioxide and water, the degrade rate can reach to 100%. It is an effective solution for plastic packaging waste.
Single material lamination to achieve flexible packaging recyclable
The “EcoCare” which is created by Amcor is a kind of one-time forming plastic sheet. It does not require glue or extrusion lamination, solely made of plastics without aluminum, while its barrier property is the same as aluminum-plastic materials. It can be applied on tooth paste tubes/cosmetics packaging, etc. It has been widely used in United States and Europe markets. Now Amcor is planning to introduce it to China market.
The standard retort pouch is usually made of mixed materials such as PET, aluminum and PP. This combination can create high-performance packaging. However, this packaging is unable to be recycled. Amcor and Nestle partnered to overcome this challenge facing the industry and have created the high-barrier, high heat-resistant and recyclable retort pouch, using Amcor’s AmLite HeatFlex recyclable solution and the AmLite transparent barrier layer to protect the product. This product can reduce the carbon footprint up to 60% of hundreds of consumer products thanks to its light weight, high resource efficiency, easy to transport and minimum food waste. This product launched in the Netherlands in October 2020.
