Arburg’s anniversary machine Allrounder 470 H Comfort will produce adapters for the medical market using PC (polycarbonate), in a three-platen mould with 2+2 cavities. The cycle time is 25 seconds. The moulded parts are removed by the Flexlift 10+2 double-arm robot with a payload of ten kilograms and another two kilograms for its second arm. The entire turnkey system that also has an integrated camera test and a sample part drawer for quality assurance purposes, was built and commissioned in the Arburg Technology Factory Pinghu. The gripper component of the Flexlift was also manufactured there on a Freeformer 300-3x.

EPS to EPS circular recycling

The EPS to EPS circular recycling system consists of fully automatic loss-in-weight feeding system, twin-screw extruder, cooling single-screw extruder, screen changer, melt pump, underwater pelletizing, coating and fully automatic packaging system. EPS waste crushed by cold pressing or EPS grinding powder after hot melt grinding can be fed into the twin-screw extruder through the automatic feeding system. The material entering the extruder becomes molten by absorbing the heat from the barrel and the mechanical energy generated by the twin-screw shear. At this time, the pentane blowing agent is injected in the middle of the twin-screw, and the molten material mixed with the blowing agent enters the cooling single-screw after being fully mixed by the twin-screw. After the molten material in the cooling single screw is cooled to a suitable temperature, it passes through the screen changer to filter out the impurities that may be contained in the EPS waste, and then enters the melt pump. The melt pump will provide stable pressure and flow for the next underwater pelletizing. The new Xydar® LCP G-330 HH material addresses challenging thermal and insulation requirements and is targeted particularly at battery module plates of EV models operating with higher voltage systems.Xydar® LCP G-330 HH is a glass-filled LCP for injection molding capable of retaining its electrical insulation upon exposure to 400°C for 30 minutes. Xydar® LCP is an inherently flame retardant polymer, without the use of halogen or bromine additives. In addition, it offers exceptional flowability and helps battery designers achieve thinner parts than possible with incumbent battery module insulation materials. The entire turnkey system that also has an integrated camera test and a sample part drawer for quality assurance purposes, was built and commissioned in the Arburg Technology Factory Pinghu.
