     As a new engineering plastic materials, CPVC is formed by chlorination of PVC monomer polymer. After chlorination, the irregularity and polarity of the molecular bonds of PVC resin will be increased,  improving the solubility and chemical stability of the resin, thus the resistance of the material to heat, acid, alkali, salt and oxidant corrosion will be increased accordingly.
    The chlorine content is increased from 56.7% to 63-74%, the Vicat softening temperature is increased from 72-82 ℃to 90-125 ℃, the maximum applicable temperature is 110 ℃, the long-term applicable temperature is 95℃, and the service life is up to 50 years.
The glass trausition temperature Tg of CPVC will increase significantly with the increase of chlorine content. Therefore, CPVC has become an energy conservation and environmental protection product because of its relatively low installation cost, high strength, chemical inertia, excellent mechanical strength, non-conductivity, and the safest combustion conductivity and smokiness.
