Publish Date:November 8, 2007
The 22nd International Exhibition on Plastics and Rubber Industries (also known as "Chinaplas 2008"), will rotate back to Shanghai, staging at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC), Pudong, Shanghai, PR China, from April 17 - 20, 2008. The Organizer of Chinaplas 2008, Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd, proudly announced the show's remarkable results at the press conference held at Dongguan this afternoon (Nov 8, 2007). All of 11 halls of SNIEC are fully occupied and temporary halls will be constructed to accommodate more exhibitors and concurrent activities. The production volume of plastic products in Guangdong province is the first among different provinces in China. Chinaplas 2008 will definitely attract buyers of user industries in Guangdong province to source new technology from overseas and China, not only for sharpening their own competitive edges, but also consolidating Guangdong's top position of manufacturing base in China.

Subsequent to the Chinaplas 2008 press conference held at K Fair in Germany, the Organizer staged the show's first press conference in China at Dongguan today. Experts from the plastics and rubber industries were invited to attend, including Mr Fu An, President of Guangdong Plastics Industry Association and Mr Cai Lihan, Vice Chairman of Dongguan Association of Plastics. Representatives from dragon enterprises, namely Shenzhen YongGao Plastic Industry Development Co. Ltd., Potentech (Guangdong Limited) and Meida Group also attended this important event to share their visiting experience at Chinaplas. The press conference was well attended and the guest speakers shared their valuable viewpoints on the development trend of Guangdong plastics and rubber industries.

Mr. Stanley Chu, Chairman of Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd., expressed that Chinaplas 2008 will achieve many breakthroughs in terms of show scale, number of exhibitors, visitors as well as the number of machinery exhibits. This edition, the exhibition area will reach a historical record of 120,000 sqm, 30% increase of the last Shanghai edition. Besides, 1,700 international exhibitors from over 35 countries and regions, together with 11 pavilions from Austria, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, PR China, Taiwan Province, UK and USA will exhibit at the show. It is expected that 63,000 visitors from worldwide will participate in the show.

China has grown into a giant in the plastics industry, ranking first in the world in the production volume of plastics processing machines, second in the production of plastic products and plastic resins. In recent years, the scale of plastics and rubber enterprises develop rapidly. The total output of plastic products in Guangdong province, Zhejiang province and Jiangsu province account for over 55% of the country's total. Guangdong ranks top in the output of plastic products and Mr. Fu An expected that the plastics industry in Guangdong will keep a good momentum of development. He pointed out that the total output in Guangdong province was 6.8 million tons in 2006, and it will reach 9.3 million tons in 2010, while the province's total industrial output value will expand to over 200 billion Yuan. It is expected that the total output of plastic products in 2015 will be two times of 2006's output, reaching 13.60 million tons, with the total output value of 300 billion Yuan.

Besides plastic products, Guangdong is also the production base of many plastics related industries, such as automobile, electrical appliances, electronics and information technology as well as toys. Therefore, Chinaplas 2008 is a perfect trading platform of raw materials and machines for worldwide exhibitors and buyers in Guangdong province. Mr. Stanley Chu emphasized that even though Chinaplas 2008 will be held in Shanghai, as the No. 1 plastics and rubber trade fair in China and Asia, the influence of Chinaplas has extended throughout China, Asia regions and the world. Chinaplas is the most influential plastics and rubber trade fair in the world following K Fair in Germany and NPE in Chicago. Last edition, it was reported that visitors came from 25 provinces, over 400 cities of China and 111 overseas countries and regions.

In 2008, it will be the third time for Adsale and Messe Dusseldorf China Ltd to co-organize Chinaplas. Messe Dusseldorf China Ltd is the subsidiary company of Messe Dusseldorf GmbH, the organizer of K Fair in Germany. To make use of their respective competitive advantages, the two tycoons in exhibition industry aim at organizing a mega plastics and rubber trade show in Asia. Mr. Fu An highly recommended Chinaplas for several times because Chinaplas has achieved remarkable records in each edition. With the fast growth of plastics and rubber industries in Guangdong and Southern China, Chinaplas will continue to be the best platform for the buyers of Southern China and international countries to exchange market information and transaction.

To speed up the business matching, eight theme zones will be set up, namely Auxiliary & Testing Equipment Zone, Chemicals & Raw Materials Zone, Die & Mould Zone, Drinktec & Plastic Packaging Zone, Extrusion Machinery Zone, Machinery Zone, Semi-finished Products Zone and Chinese Export Machinery & Materials Zone. Among them, the Chinese Export Machinery & Materials Zone is the gateway for local enterprises to take step forward to international business arena. At present, this hall occupies 23,000 sqm with renowned local exhibitors including Changzhou Hengli Machinery Co., Ltd, Ya Tai Plastics Machinery Co., Ltd, Dongfeng Machine Industrial Co., Ltd, Ruian Fengming Machine Co., Ltd, Zhong Shan Fong Kee Machinery Co., Ltd, Guangzhou Trend-style Co., Ltd, Hangzhou Tederic Machinery Co., Ltd, Ruian City Guangda Plastics Machinery Co., Ltd, Ruian Zhuxin Machinery Co., Ltd, Wenzhou Kingpak Manufacturing Co., Ltd, Ruian Hongyin Auto. Machinery & Electricity Factory, Zhangjiagang City Yili Machinery Co., etc..

During the exhibition period, besides technical seminars and forums, new concurrent activities will also be launched. The "China-US Plastics Industry Summit", which will be jointly organized by Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd., China Plastics Processing Industry Association and the Society of Plastics Inc, will fully address on the topics of Sino-US market development trend and exploration of more bilateral trading opportunities. Besides, Chinaplas 2008 will also highlight the increasing role of plastics and rubber in sports equipment and sport stadiums. As Chinaplas 2008 will be held four months prior to the opening of the Beijing Olympics, the show will bring out new concepts of plastics application in the sports industry. With large show scale, new concurrent activities and the tremendous support from different co-organizers, sponsors, exhibitors and visitors, Mr. Stanley Chu believes that Chinaplas 2008 will create more new records and continue to consolidate her position as Asia's No. 1 plastics and rubber trade fair.

Chinaplas 2008 will be the 19th consecutive edition to earn the support of EUROMAP (European Committee of Machinery Manufacturers for the Plastics & Rubber Industries) as the exclusive sponsor in China.
