(April 17, 2008, Shanghai, China) The 22nd International Exhibition on Plastics and Rubber Industries (Chinaplas 2008), was ceremoniously kicked off this morning (April 17, 2008) at Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC), Pudong, Shanghai, PR China. The show will last for four days till April 20, 2008. This year, "Plastics & Rubber in Sports" is one of the show's highlighted activities and it will capture the attention of both audience and media. In this Beijing Olympic Games year, Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd., organizer of Chinaplas, aims at providing an opportunity for trade professionals to understand more about the application of the latest plastics and rubber technologies to the sports industry and to gain more updated knowledge on sport industry and Olympic Games by setting up "Plastics & Rubber in Sports" Hall where a wide range of demonstration, performance and games will be arranged.

Under the theme of "Innovative Plastics and Rubber, Sports without Limit", a series of activities to promote the application of plastics and rubber in sports will be organized in "Plastics & Rubber in Sports" Hall, located at the central square outside the exhibition hall E2 and E3. It is divided into three areas: Sports Products & Equipment Display, Introduction of Sports Stadiums, and Performances and Interactive Games, which allow visitors to witness the wide application of the latest plastics and rubber technologies in the sports industry. The activities of the different areas are:

(1) Display Area: To showcase the new application of plastics and rubber technologies in three areas: Sports Products, Equipment Display and Introduction of Sports Stadiums.

(2) Performances and Interactive Games: To display wonderful features of the plastics and rubber and to highlight the continuous creativity of sports activities brought by advanced plastics and rubber technology, on-site different performances, including calisthenics and bicycle acrobatic are scheduled and visitors are also welcome to participate in interactive games of table tennis, mini-football and mini-golf games.

With the stable physical and multifunctional characters, plastics and rubber are widely used in sports industry, covering sports products and equipment, such as sport shoes, table tennis, golf mallet, canoeing boat, saddle of bicycle and handle of softball, etc. Besides, sports stadiums, including Bird's Nest (National Stadium), Water Cube (National Aquatics Center) and National Indoor Stadium are the typical construction in Beijing 2008 Olympic Games that also applied plastic membrane and other plastics and rubber materials. In this fantastic Olympic Games year, Chinaplas 2008 will demonstrate how the special features of plastic and rubber can help extend the athletes' physical limits.
