AKROLOY PA portfolio is an innovative product family of composites based on PA66 and amorphous aromatic polyamide with glass-fiber reinforcements ranging from 30% to 60%. Their key features include their superb strength comparable to die-cast Al/Mg alloy, low and slow moisture/water uptake, high retainness of strength and rigidity (c.a. 90%) even in conditioned status, low creep, low mold shrinkage as well as low anisotropy. These features make AKROLOY PA materials the ideal candidate for replacing die-cast Al/Mg metal parts in automotive industry to give customers the benefit of both lower part weight and lower system cost, besides the big freedom of multi-part consolidation in part design. Successful and/or potential applications include chasis bar, wiper arm bearings, door handles, footpad, impellers, water pump housings, starter motor inner gear rings, armrest, etc. |
