Expedite the development towards industry 4.0 Smart manufacturing
Publish Date: 2020/09/23
At the beginning of 2020, the global supply chain has been under intense pressure because of the adverse impact of Covid-19. As the anti-epidemic measures in different countries has restricted the passage of personnel and logistics, which impeded the labor-intensive manufacturing production and prompted the manufacturing industry to accelerate the development of digitalisation and improve intelligence manufacturing application.

It has also revealed the weaknesses of traditional labor-intensive production and accelerated the development of smart manufacturing. Topology Research Institute estimated that the scale of the global smart manufacturing market would reach USD 400 billion in 2024, with a compound annual growth rate of 10.1%. The main growth momentum comes from the upgrade of remote and contactless technologies.

In the post-epidemic era, manufacturers have been significantly accelerating the implementation of remote applications in all stages of smart manufacturing, such as upgrading sensors, IoT, and realising artificial intelligence, etc., to further realise high flexibility in production, and to strengthen the ability of survival and profitability of manufacturers for future crisis. The latest report of Meticulous Research pointed out that as one of the key factor in smart manufacturing, the total value of the Global Industrial IoT market is expected to reach USD 263.4 billion in 2027 and a compound annual growth rate at 16.7% during 2019 to 2027. The fastest growing area goes to Asia-Pacific region. The above figures demonstrate the urgency of implementing Industry 4.0.

“Industry 4.0 Factory of the Future” is organised by Adsale & iPlast 4.0 and jointly oraganised by European Plastics and Rubber Machinery (EUROMAP), The Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA) and The Industrial Interoperability Standard (OPC UA). Industry-leading companies including Arburg , Boshiyuan, Engel, KraussMaffei, Matsui, Monitor, Motan Colortronic, Wittmann Battenfeld, Yizumi and many more are going to join hands to demonstrate all-round and practical solution of industry 4.0
