Triphenyl phosphate (TPP) has a wide range of uses, mainly including the following aspects:
Flame retardant: Triphenyl phosphate is a non-halogen, environmentally friendly flame retardant, widely used in electronic equipment, PVC, hydraulic fluid, glue, nail polish and cast resin materials. It can form phosphoric acid and pyrophosphoric acid in the process of thermal decomposition, thus preventing heat transfer and playing a flame retardant role.
Plasticizer: In plastic processing, triphenyl phosphate is used as a plasticizer for engineering plastics and phenolic resin laminated boards, improving the plasticity and flowability of the material. In addition, it is also used as a plasticizer for nitrocellulose and cellulose acetate.
Other applications: Triphenyl phosphate is also used in synthetic rubber as a softener, as a raw material for the manufacture of triphenyl phosphate, and as a refractory solvent, nitrocellulose paint, roofing paper wetting agent, etc.
