GULF Cultivates a Green Culture, Expanding “Turning Bottles into Purpose” Upcycling Project to Give Plastic Bottles a Second Life
Gulf Development (GULF) has expanded its ""Turning Bottles into Purpose"" initiative, a circular economy project focused on upcycling post-consumer PET plastic waste into functional products. By collaborating with Wat Chak Daeng, a facility renowned for converting plastic into textiles, GULF successfully diverted over a thousand kilograms of waste from landfills, demonstrating a commitment to reducing carbon emissions through innovative corporate recycling.
This project highlights a growing trend among Thailand’s private sector to integrate sustainable waste management into their core operations. By engaging employees in the collection process and transforming plastic into items like monk robes and blankets, GULF sets a practical example for industrial waste reduction, directly supporting Thailand’s national goals of achieving a circular economy and long-term environmental sustainability.
