[More Sustainable] VULCAN XC72 Conductive Carbon Black

Its unique properties allow end products to deliver functionality at relatively lower loading levels compared to Cabot's other carbon blacks in the XC family. VULCAN XC72 specialty carbon black has demonstrated its performance capabilities for many years, allowing compounders to feel confident using it in a wide range of conductive applications. VULCAN XC72 specialty carbon black is suitable for use across a range of conductive applications: Conductor shields used in medium voltage power cables; Insulation shields used in medium voltage power cables; Conductive plastic molded or extruded parts where protection from electrostatic discharge (ESD) is required.
ABS resin is a terpolymer of three monomers of acrylonitrile, butadiene and styrene, and has the common properties of the three components. Therefore, ABS has good rigidity, high impact strength, good heat resistance, good resistance for low temperature, good chemical resistance, excellent mechanical strength and electrical properties. It is easy for processing, as it has good processing dimensional stability and surface gloss. It is also easy to paint and color, and can also be sprayed, secondary processing such as electroplating, welding and bonding. SAN resin is a binary copolymer of acrylonitrile and styrene. It is a colorless transparent or translucent thermoplastic resin. It has high temperature and chemical resistance, excellent gloss and excellent mechanical properties.
AKRO-PLASTIC GmbH is offering several flame-retardant compounds for E-mobility and E&E applications. All of these products exclusively use halogen-free FR agents and therefore reach high CTI values of 600V. Even though environmental friendliness and flame-retardant additives do not really seem compatible, there are opportunities for products with an improved carbon footprint. AKRO-PLASTIC GmbH is currently working on partly biobased glass fibre reinforced AKROMID NEXT based on 6.9 and 5.6. There are even opportunities to improve the CO2 footprint of flame-retardant additives using a biobased ingredient as well as renewable energy.
